Whether I use batch upload or single upload, I am able to upload the same file more than once. It doesn't matter if I assign the file to a different album or the same album. If I delete one, it deletes the file but the other references (comments, etc) remain.
It doesn't seem like it should work that way. Is there some checking utility I can run?

Coppermine doesn't check for duplicates

I thought it did when I saw "DP : means that the file is a duplicate and is already in the database".
What does that message indicate then?

If you batchadd coppermine checks if for a filename you want to add a thumbnail or normal image is already existing (in the same folder) -> if you batchadded a certain folder and upload images in that folder coppermine recognizes the newly uploaded ones (still not recommended to do so).
