I have a coppermine gallery with some 49 albums and 2499 pictures.
Now I am wondering if I can set intermediate pictures retroactively?
(In other words, all the photos that have been uploaded until now do not have intermediate pictures, is there a way to do it even after having uploaded pictures?)
-
Yes, enabled intermedaite pics and then use admin tools to build them.
-
Thank you, which admin tools should I use to build them?
-
The Admin Tools. It's a link on your admin menu bar.
-
I can't seem to find Admin Tools? (Yes I am the administrator :) )
-
I wasn't sure if 1.2 had that link. You'll have to upload to 1.3.2 to use those tools.
-
Would upgrading require a lot of work with a gallery of 50 albums and 2500 pics ?
-
Whats coppermine version do you have? What theme are you using?
Have you tried using the classic theme?
This pic is from classic.
--day late and dollar short-- nevermind this post. I didn't realize it was already in the 1.2 support board.
-
No. It's very easy. Download the zip 1.3.2 from this site and read the documentation (/docs/index.htm). Just a matter of backing up your db and original files, then uploading all the new files according to the instructions and executing a script.
-
Okay thanks, ill try to upgrade now, ill post back once that's done. Thanks to all.
-
@donnoman - Same here. Maybe I should've read the board name before I posted the first time. ;)
-
Okay I have upgraded to the latest version of coppermine.
Now after I choose a specific size for my intermediate pictures, what do I do in Admin Tools?
-
Damn why is my config.php page so short all of a sudden? I can't see the 'apply changes' button of whatever it's called and the page will only load up until the Thumbnail View box
-
Did you upload the config.php file when you upgraded? I'm wondering if you confused it with include/config.inc.php, which you do not need to upload.
-
Yes I mixed it up, I didn't copy the new config.php file that's in the root folder, I did that now and all seems to be well.
There's only one problem, I forgot to backup include/config.inc.php is that going to be a big problem?
-
If all is well, then you're okay. If there were an issue with config.inc.php file, you couldn't view your gallery.
-
all seems to be well, its working.
I am also rebuilind the albums with intermediate pictures. anyway to apply changes to the whole gallery instead of album by album?
-
Not that I'm aware of.
-
With 2499 pictures, there will probably be issues trying to process them. You could encounter timeouts, or your webhost's wrath.
-
Okay too bad.
One more question:
I am currently rebuilding each album to add the intermediate pictures that I did not have before. From time to time, I get this error:
Warning: chmod(): Operation not permitted in /home/***/public_html/***/include/picmgmt.inc.php on line 224
Either way it's all working, just wondering about that occiasional error while rebuilding?
-
if everything else works, there's no need to worry about this message.

Okay, I tried to continue rebuilding the albums and now I get errors such as these:
ERROR creating:$thumb
ERROR creating:$normal
Also, the images no longer show up after I try to rebuild an album, instead I get the famous red X.
It was working yesterday :(
Whats going on?
-
Had to switch to GD2 for it to work today, even though it worked with ImageMagick last night?
-
I have just attempted to upload the first album since I upgraded. After setting the right permissions I went to 'Batch Add File' but I can't see the file?
-
Has the upload location been changed with the newer version of coppermine? It wont show the files i upload to 'userpics' but will show them when i upload into 'albums'. ??
-
You weren't ever meant to upload into userpics. It is just enforced in the newer versions to prevent people from uploading to userpics. Please read the manual.
-
Ooops I see, thanks! What exaclty is the 'userpics' folder meant for?
-
That's where Coppermine puts your member's pictures.
