This has been working 100% fine the all of the sudden it started giving an error:
It allows you to upload the file but when you try to assign it to the gallery it gives the following error:
Critical error
Destination directory albums/userpics/10001/ is not writable by the script ! (perms set to 777)
I have checked perms on the folders and all look good especially since it was working and LOTS of pics have been added in past.
Any suggestions as to what may be causing this would be fantastic!
Thanks,
Ken

1) Upgrade to the most recent stable version cpg1.4.3
2) CHMOD the albums folder as suggeste din the docs
3) do as suggested in the upload troubleshooting section of the docs.

ok did the upgrade and still get the message. Here is some specific info it returned: when debugging was turned on.
Critical error
Destination directory albums/userpics/10001/ is not writable by the script !
File: /home/userdir/public_html/gallery/db_input.php - Line: 320

don't post debug_output unless requested. Do as suggested in the upload troubleshooting section of the docs. CHMOD as suggested (ask your webhost if you're not sure).

ok. I am the web host. It was working beautifully for this client then this just started all of the sudden. I have other coppermine's installed that work great.
Thanks,
Ken

If you're the webhost then you should know what to do when experiencing permission or ownership issues. CHMOD and CHOWN are all it takes, business as usual for an experienced webhost.
Do as I suggested - I actually made 3 suggestions that are not meant as alternatives, but you should heed all three advices.

I do know what to do. Like I said mulitple coppermin gallery's are set up and havebeen for a long time set up by me but this one is the first I have seen that worked for 3 months then just stopped. Maybe the client fubared it. i did the upgrade but still no go. Thanks anyway.

somehow the ownership of the folder was nobody nobody..so it would not let me change the perms...odd.
got it fixed.
