Title: Search don't work in Firefox?
Post by: makk on March 22, 2010, 06:24:57 pm
I just realized this, so I don't know if it's been like this for long or even always, or what I might have done to create such a problem!

Link to my search field:
http://private.htstart.org/index.php?file=search_album/search (http://private.htstart.org/index.php?file=search_album/search)
Either write 'Pontus' or click on it on searchwords in the bottom or just use direct link: http://private.htstart.org/thumbnails.php?album=search&search=pontus (http://private.htstart.org/thumbnails.php?album=search&search=pontus). It really don't matter. The result will be pretty much the same anyway!

1. Be sure to use Firefox
2. Get 3 images as result? All well so far!
3. Click on any of them!
4. Anything? I just get "nothing to show" (see attached screenie)

However, using IE or even a IE-plugin for FF (I am using IE-TAB) it all works as intended and a correct image is shown (in the intermediate size or whatever it's called)

This computer is now running:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; sv-SE; rv:1.9.1.8) Gecko/20100202 Firefox/3.5.8 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729)
A minute or so ago I had 3.6 (and first thought that was the bad guy, so I went back to 3.5.8)

Any idea what can cause this?

Works without problem using Firefox 3.6 on WinXP - make sure that you always clear cookies/cache/form data/etc. before you think there is something wrong.

You need to upgrade your Coppermine to version 1.4.26 as soon as possible.
The version you are running: <!--Coppermine Photo Gallery 1.4.25 (stable)--> is out of date.

Thanks for the heads up about the new version!
I guess upgrading is prett simple and documented (actually never checked that out)?

I will run Priform iCCleaner to be sure to delete|clear all forms, cache, cookies etc, and will be back in a few minutes with result!

Sure, that was the problem indeed!
Sorry to be sucha a wank ;)

Now I only need to upgrade then I guess.

I am currently using plugins:

OpenSearch v1.0
Search Album v1.08
File replacer v1.0
Light Box v1.3

All are ok with new version AFAYK?

Will do a backup just in case, and then find info about upgrading!
Thanks for your time and answer

Upgrading from cpg1.4.25 to cpg1.4.26 will not affect any plugins. It's the idea of the whole plugin architecture that you don't have to take care of them when performing a manintenance upgrade. However, we have a strict "one issue per thread" policy, so if you have further questions on upgrading that are not being covered in the docs (http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#14), start a new thread please.

You appear to be a believer in extra tools. That's not needed at all - using the tools built into Firefox will work just fine. Additional tools mean additional things that can go wrong.
