Disallow guests to view full images with ipb bridge
« on: September 05, 2004, 06:23:53 pm »

Hello,

I am trying to make it so that guests cannot view the full size images in my gallery. I have looked at and attempted to do the following mods as described in the links below:

http://coppermine.sourceforge.net/faq.php?q=viewThumbnailsOnly#viewThumbnailsOnly
http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=7636.0

However I have not had any success, the likely reason being that I am using the invision board bridge (it works on standalone coppermine galleries). Mabye its because the user ids are different for guests in invision than cpg?

Could anyone help me solve the problem and tell me how to make these mods compatible with the invision bridge mod? (i'm using cpg 1.3.2 and invision 1.3.1 final)

Thank you.

This is confusing: are you using the invision board hack (available on the invisionize board) or the regular coppermine distribution from this site? Please post a link and password as well.

I am using the "coppermine goes invision" mod that you can find on invisionize. This mod uses the invisionboard.inc.php bridge file found with coppermine downloads.

Here is the URL to my bridged coppermine gallery: http://www.gamerenders.net/renders/

Login: Username = test      Password = test

As you can see, you can view the full size images when you are a guest and when you are a member even though I have tried all of the "guests can only view thumbnails" mods described in the last post. The mods do work however when you try them on a standalone non-bridged installation of coppermine.

My guess is that guests are detected as a seperate usergroup when you have the bridge installed so using "if (!USER_ID)" (as used in those mods to detect guests) does not apply.

My question is if you can make it so that guests can only view the thumbnails with the invisionbridge installed.

Thanks.

"coppermine goes invision" is not supported, as it changes coppermine core files (imo beyond repair) and is known to cause "funny" problems, this is why I was asking. If you need support, please ask in the invisionize board, as the above mentioned hack is half-way of a port, which can't be supported here, or undo the "coppermine goes invision" hack completely and use the "regular" bridge file that comes with cpg1.3.2.
