Easiest way to resize
« on: August 18, 2004, 02:49:51 am »

I been reading different threads all afternoon and haven't come across the answer I'm looking for.

I have lots of digital photos that my wife took which have the following characteristics:

width: 3072
height: 2048
hoz res: 180 dpi
vert res:180
bit depth: 24

I realize this is overkill for the web and that they need to be resized. (I also found that CPG pukes on them :)) I am more programmer than graphics guy. What I'm looking for is the simplist way to convert 20 or 30 photos to a acceptable size for the web and CPG. I have access to Fireworks and Photoshop, although I am a neophyte with both. I've been able to use Fireworks to fidle with the pixel dimensions and print size to get CPG to take them. However, I'd like an easier way.

Can anyone recommend an easy way to resize my photos and the best settings to use? I'd settle for a good reference site as well. Thanks

Get yourself a copy of Irfanview and do a batch conversion to cut them to 1/3 that size at least.
