[Solved]: Newbie Help
« on: August 17, 2004, 08:54:29 pm »

I am trying to setup CPG 1.3.1. I have a new web host that I recently signed up for and this is my first experience with MySQL, PHP, etc. I have a pretty good background in programming and web authoring. I've made it as far as installing the CPG files to my web server, set the directory protections to 777. I created a MySQL database on my web server called "cpg" using it's admin control panel. It appears that it prepends the name with "whapmpro_" because when I list the databases on the server, it shows "whapmpro_cpg" as the only database there. When I try to run the install.php I get this message:

mySQL could not locate a database called 'whapmpro_cpg' please check the value entered for this.

My web control panel shows this database to exist. Can someone who is more experienced help me figure out what I've done wrong? Thanks

OK.

After trying a few more things I figured out that I had created the database and the user, but I had not added the user to the database. It nows seems to work. Hope I don't look so foolish next time :-\\
