CPG and XOOPS CMS Integration
« on: July 14, 2004, 07:46:27 am »

I have been running a CPG photo gallery at my website (and PhpBB forum - and have them integrated as suggested by the posting in this forum) for some time. Now I am in the process of further improving my website with a CMS feature. After several weeks of investigation I have chosen to use XOOPS (the alternative will be Mambo) as my CMS (note: have I made a good choice?).

Can anyone help, how can I integrate our CPG into XOOPS? (the login/member function, so people do not need to login separately).

Thanks in advance.

The Xoops devs took the cpg1.1 code and created a coppermine module for their cms. You can check the demo and download the module. Please understand that they actually forked the project, so if you decide to use it, ask for support on their boards - no support from us here.
There are other CMS available that have coppermine integration, especially "Coppermine for CMS" for phpNuke and postNuke, and currently Omni (one of the coppermine devs) is testing a bridge file to integrate Coppermine with mambo server as well.
I can't comment on Xoops being a good choice or not, as I don't use that kind of CMS (in my opinion, they don't deserve the name "CMS", but are rather portal software. The only real CMS I know and work with is Typo3, which hasn't got a coppermine port yet).

Thanks GauGau for the (very thorough) response. Keep the good work on the Coppermine! Thanks once again.

No, afaik nobody has started a Typo3 port yet.
Please don't try to hijack threads, this one is dedicated to Xoops. There are other threads where Typo3 integration has been discussed, please search the board.
