Admin in usermode?
« on: September 26, 2003, 12:15:58 am »

Hi,
I'm admin at my site (offcourse), but I want to make my own user gallery...
The problem is that I cannot get to user mode, where I can add my own user gallery, or am I missing something?

I need to have my user gallery, because I wrote a mod for phpBB which reads from the database which user has a gallery, and displays that for the user.
I, as admin, cannot create my own user table, what do I do?

see my phpnuke testsite - coppermine gallery here:

if you are admin at Nuke, and also admin at coppermien, you should have a link "User mode" in your coppermine. If you click this, coppermien should change from admin tzo usermode ...

Log in as user (you do have a user account that is the same name with your admin account, right?).

You are anonymous if you only login as admin, hence, no user gallery for you.

besides: it doesn't make any sense that the admin should have a user gallery: the whole gallery is his, so he can create whatever category/album he wants to in any place - why have a user gallery?

Hi, thanks for your answers...

I want to have a user gallery, because I wrote a mod for my phpBB forum. It reads all user galleries from the database, and lists them in every post of the user. I cannot upload into the user galleries, I have to create one in Member Galleries (the non-removable standard gallery).

I did logout as admin to the site, and logged in as a "normal" user on phpnuke, with the same name.
This gives me the admin navmenu, but I cannot get into user mode. When I click usermode, it brings me back to the main page of the site. And when I go back to coppermine, I am still in admin mode... :?

Anyone?

Have you cleared your cache and cookies lately?  Have you duplicated this problem on another computer?

From what I've seen, ALL users have an admin mode so they can create & manage their own albums.  The Super Admin has extra options like Config & Batch Upload.  What you should do is to go into Admin Mode and then to Groups.  Set Administartors to be able to the same things Registered Users can.  Then go into Album & create one.  This will let you the Super Admin have your own user gallery.
