Hit Counters not working (after upgrade?)

I recently upgraded from 1.5.30 to 1.5.42 but I'm not entirely sure my issues are related to the upgrade. After upgrading is when I noticed the following hit counters not working:

* Album Views (alb_hits) - "Album viewed 0 times" on Category pages (index.php?cat=x)
* Image Displays (pic_hits?) - "Displayed: 0 times" on image pages (displayimage.php)Album Views did work at one time because there are entries in the database. Votes (cpg15x_votes) appears to be working correctly. I followed the 1.5.42 Upgrade Procedure closely and my 1.5.42-installed Curve theme is modified only slightly for format and ad insertion.

Where would be a good place to start troubleshooting and/or items to check?

Please check in the config, if admin hits are taken into account. Additionally, please post a link to your gallery so we can have a look ourselves.
