Tripod doesn't allow me to CHMOD
« on: July 10, 2004, 09:34:01 pm »

I don't know what is happening, but I enter the FTP of my Tripod hosting and when I try to CHMOD "albums" and "include" it said that CHMOD is not supported. However I 've heard of many people using Tripod as Coppermine host. Anyone can help me?
Thanks,
Martin.

Well, the first line says it all.

Go to www.nukephotogallery.com for their latest version.

From your error message
Quote
You installed the standalone Coppermine into your Nuke portal.

The link Casper gave you is for the NUKE version of Coppermine. If you're trying to install PHP Nuke go there to get the version of  Coppermine that is for PHP Nuke.

No, I don't want the NUKE version. I just downloaded the "cpg1.3.0.zip" from this website and uploaded it to http://fotosa2004.tripod.com/album/install.php , but that message comes out when I try to install. Now you understand?
Any help?

The error you enconuter has been added to make sure users who run a portal like phpnuke or postnuke don't accidentally run the standalone version of coppermine. The routine checks for the existance of a folder called "modules". Apparently you have a folder called modules on your webserver directory. If you're sure you don't have phpNuke nor postnuke installed, edit install.php from your coppermine package, find
Code: [Select]
// Check if standalone is installed in a portal like phpNuke (added by DJMaze)
$DIR=preg_split("/[\/\\\]/",dirname($_SERVER['PATH_TRANSLATED']));
if ($DIR[count($DIR)-2] == "modules") {
    echo "<html><body><h1>ERROR</h1>You installed the standalone Coppermine into your Nuke portal.<br>".
         "Please download and install a CPG Port: <a href=\"http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=89658\">CPG for PostNuke OR CPG for PHPnuke</a></body></html>";
    die();
} // end check
and delete it.

I have deleted that. But now there is another problem. This message appears: "The installer is locked". I know that I have to delete some file, but I don't know which file. Can you help me?
Thanks.

Thanks.

this file only exists on your server, not in your local copy. If you get the message "The installer is locked", there must be a file "include/install.lock" on your server. Delete this file on your server if you want to re-run the installer.

tripod doesn't suck.  learn how to use the correct tools.

http://flashfxp.com

highlight the files and hit CTRL-O to CHMOD them

stop the ads on tripod: install firefox
http://getfirefox.com

then these fine extensions:
TabMix
AdBlock -- then google for Filterset G
Remove IT permanently

find the extensions here:

I know wat is your problem. I got this problem before. It is about your host. After a month I tried to install Coppermine in the "free host"(100webspace), it always got this error. I changed to "paid host" and yahoo...no more error. It works correctly. I think coppermine doesn't work with free host...So try to install it in paid host...Gud luck.. :D :D :D
