No text showing in gallery after install
« on: December 23, 2014, 04:28:14 pm »

I've managed to complete installation, and now my gallery is just blank. I see the icons but there is no text showing up anywhere!

Here is my site, what is wrong??  Thank you

I'm not good at that. Never happend to me.
You can unistall: http://documentation.coppermine-gallery.net/en/uninstall.htm and that install again.
To unistall just delete all coppermine files from the gallery folder and the coppermine database. In the link are instructions about how to delete the database.

Is ok if you do not delete the copermine database.
Just choose create a new database on step 7:
- in the field Create new MySQL database type a name for your database.
- click Create
- click Populate database.

Installation steps:

On step step 3 you have to have all green arrows with Writable, that means everything is ok.
The listed folders (albums with all subfolders and include) have the right permissions.

On step 4 you have to see GD2 (that means you server has GD2 that makes thumbnails and other stuffs)
You can also click check path for ImageMagick to see if you have it on your server (host).
ImageMagick is an alternative to GD2. Is OK if you don't have it. GD2 is better.

About GD2 and ImageMagick:  http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,77929.msg376673.html#msg376673

Installation steps part2:

On step 6 you have to enter MySQL host . Username is the username on your host, the one you use to login in control panel. I think root is ok, only if your are on a dedicated server, not a shared host. Password is proabibly the one you use to login in your host control panel.
Click test connection to see if connection is ok. If not, then ask yor host for the MySQL host, username and password.

On step 7 :
- in the field Create new MySQL database type a name for your database.
- click Create
- click Populate database.

see attachments from reply#1 for step 7.

Installation steps part3:

On step 8 you have to see Status:...OK for everything. That means the coppermine tables were created with no errors.

On step 9 type username, password and email that you want to have for your gallery.

On step 10 click Finish installation.

Now you shoud have your gallery (see attachment Home - Your gallery name here)

Did you deleted the first coppermine database?
On step 7 when you installed coppermine the first time did you click Create New MYSQL Database?
If you did not, then the installer installed it in the main database (MySQL, Performance schema) and is better to not try to delete tables.
Will ruin the database. You have to know witch tables you can delete.

If you did click Create New MYSQL Database and you remember the name you give it, then you can delete it with PHPMyAdmin tool in your host control panel.

Just so you will know: in gallery/include/config.inc.php you can see details about your coppermine database.
