I have a similar problem.

I recently took over the gallery and I have never used coppermine before, so I don't know my way around very well yet.
None of the people who tried to register for the gallery got the registration email with the activation link. I set up a few test account and didn't get an email either, so it's not a problem of the email being considered as spam.
I can activate users manually, but that won't solve the problem on the long run.
What can be done to solve it?

We're using version 5.2.17.

Such a Coppermine version doesn't exist. Please post a link to your gallery.

Please upgrade to the latest stable release (currently cpg1.5.20). If it still doesn't work, please enable the contact form and let us know, so we can test ourselves.
