how do i stop guests on my forum from being able to view the gallery??

Easy way, would be to use the mod in this thread, http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?topic=3503.0
which takes unregistered users to the login page (may not work with some bridges).

Make the gallery link only appear on your forum if logged in.  depends on the forum application, but they all only show the logout button when logged in, so use that system to show this link.
