MySQL Password
« on: March 17, 2010, 01:03:26 am »

Im using the install.php and it will not accept my MySQL password. it keeps changing "|\|" to "|\\|" and saying it cannot connect ( wander why). Changing the password is not an option. Is there some manual way I can give it the step #1 info so it doesn't keep messing up my password.

I manually put the info in the config.php file but it gave me an error:

"Coppermine critical error:
Unable to connect to database !
MySQL said: Access denied for user '######'@'localhost' (using password: NO)"

Issue solved? If not: stop playing with the "solved" icon and do as suggested per board rules instead. You have been told about board rules before:
In the future, respect board rules!

Don't use characters like the backslash in passwords - they have a very special meaning and should not be used. Especially for mySQL I suggest using alpha-numeric passwords. You can use capitalization, but you should not use special chars there - that leads to problems in many scripts.
