Ok, that's my question. I've had installed CPG 1.1.1 and my frontpage was very nice since only the category names was displayed (very fast to load) and all the albums were showed only when clicking on the category name.

Now I've updated to 1.2.1 and with my big surprise, there's no mean (or I haven't found it) to let the things go as before. I'm not able to show just the category names on the frontpage as before... ???

Sure, I can display just one or two albums inside the category but this was very confusing for the customers.

How can I restore the situation as before?

This has not changed, between versions 1.1 and 1.2.1.
Just go into config, and set 'Show first level album thumbnails in categories' to NO.
