Ôªø

The three characters above are showing on top left of pages on my site.
Anyone knows why and how to remove this rather annoying garbage?

Site is hosted on OSX server running Apache 1.3.x and PHP 4.x.x

This is usually indicative of a character encoding/browser mismatch.  Try switching to/from the UTF-8 version of the language.
