Log in issues
« on: November 07, 2008, 01:50:29 am »

Hello all,

I'm not sure why, but for some reason I cannot log in with my Admin account or my test account i have created. I haven't upgraded or changed anything with the site. I uploaded some pictures about 2 months ago and haven't been back since. now i want to up load some more pictures and i can't log in. i have tried to use the forgot password method, but the site tells me there is no such user with my address.

I have access to MyPHPAdmin. I have found the string with my users info so that i can change the password. the problem is that i'm not sure how coppermine encodes the password. where can i find somewhere to translate a password that looks like this? (note, this is not my full password)

Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance for you help.s

Why not see the correct email address from phpMyAdmin and then use it in forgot password?

the problem is that i'm not sure how coppermine encodes the password.
Coppermine is using MD5 encryption. PhpMyAdmin provides a tool for that, as suggested in many threads similar to yours.

I'm not sure why, but for some reason I cannot log in with my Admin account or my test account i have created.
Why don't you post a link to your gallery together with the non-admin test user account? This way we could try to figure out if this is related to your PC or a generic problem with your gallery.

@ Abbas
I have already tried that. The email on files is in fact my email address. But it still tells me no such user...

@Joachim
I've already tried from different computers. This isn't the first time. I also log into some other websites that are run off of Joomla. I use the same login/password for all 3 sites and they all stopped accepting my login info. I have been able to get into the other sites using the forgot password option but my CP install is being stubborn.

here is a link to my gallery:

I'm going to look in PhpMyAdmin for the tool you described. I'll let you know what I find out.

e10adc3949ba59abbe56e057f20f883e is the md5 hash for 123456. So change the password from phpmyadmin to the mentioned hash and your password will become 123456. Then after login change your password from cpg user manager.

Great - don't forget to change the password to something else from user manager. Everyone now knows that your password is 123456 :).
