Modifying Album Properties Sets Album Password
« on: October 10, 2008, 03:26:05 am »

I did a quick search and didn't see this posted yet, so I apologize if it has already been reported and I missed it.

I am having a problem where I am in the update album screen and making a change to the name or description. After updating the album, I noticed the album viewing permissions were getting switched from Public to Me Only. I did NOT make this change. I noticed there are character placeholders in the password field (*****) even though I have not set a password on any albums. I believe updating the album is somehow seeing this as a password change and automatically setting the album permissions to Me Only as per the docs. When I clear these characters in the password field before saving the update, it does not change the permissions.

Has anyone else seen this happen where it seems to be picking up a password even though one is not set?

Thanks,
Latisha

I suspect that your browser is to blame - if you have enabled the feature in your browser to memorize passwords for you, it probably filled the field accordingly. Try to replicate with another browser or try turning the remember password option off in your default browser.

Good call! I cleared the passwords in my browser and the problem went away.

Thank you.
