I would like to move image information somewhere else, preferably next to the image itself however any pointing towards the code would be nice cause this topic http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,18299.msg268026.html#msg268026 is outdated...

Copy the theme_display_image() function from the sample theme to your custom theme and then apply the modifications discussed.
