includes and 777?

Isn't it dangerous to put includes folder at 777 permission?

You can make it non-writable after installation. If your server setup requires 777 to allow write access to scripts then you have no choice but to use 777. See also http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=2987.0
