Designating album to user
« on: July 15, 2008, 10:47:49 am »

Hello,

I think I've looked everywhere and haven't found a solution, so here's my post...(sorry for my bad english)

I'd like to set my coppermine so that certain users, appointed by me, can upload and manage pictures and albums, but only to their own album.

I need to have 4 different "groups", or call it whatever you like...

1. Admin - me, total control
2. Privilidged user - Control over their own categorie, so they can create categories, albums and upload pictures
3. registrerd users - Can upload to public albums
4. Unregistrered users - can view all pictures.

The way I do this now is by having the personal galleries set to be able to be viewed by everyone and the public albums to be allowed to upload by registrerd users.

However, this has 2 major drawbacks: the personal galleries don't display nice, you have to click a link before you can view them (now there's a link to the personal galleries, and thumbnails for the public ones below- I'd like both to have thumbnails) and second, personal galleries are harder to organise.

Sorry if this sounds vague, but it's the best I can do with my limited English.

Some help would Really be appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

If the above is not possible,

is it possible to display the thumbnails of the usergalleries instead of a link to them on the startpage?

My php is even more limited than my english...sadly enough   :-\

Sorry to post another post within 5 minutes, can't seem to find an edit button...

but to be more clear: I want one page, with thumbnails of both personal user galleries and below that, thumbnails of the public galleries.

(only if the request in my first post isn't possible).

Thanks once more  :D

Non-admins can not create albums in public categories. No mod, no hack, no workaround. Has been asked so often that it hurts having to post this once more.

Sorry to have offended you, but how about my second question?

Is it possible for the albums from the personal galleries to be displayed alongside the albums from the public categorie:

Thanks in advance.

In coppermine: no, unless you code a hack. Using third-party tools like cpmFetch to display this someplace else (outside of coppermine): sure.
