You reply to my post "fangweil" as if you knew that before posting
your question... If the question has been answered many times, perhaps you wouldn't have resorted to posting yours.
But thanks for the reply none the less.
I ALWAYS search extensively before posting on ANY forum. The problem is which keywords to search under before finding your question and or reading through hundreds of posts which have very little or nothing to do with one's issue.
So when Nibbler, "Dev Team member & Coppermine addict" says in HIS reply to you:
Visitors means anyone who visits the gallery. It does not mean guests. You can set the album permissions en masse using phpmyadmin (uploads => 'YES')
I believe he was referring to your setting in the individual Album permissions regarding Allowing ALL VISITORS Upload privledges (by default).
I find it kind of strange that a direct Database query would be necessary when the permissions clearly address Group permissions for "Registered | Public albums" upload & "Guest | Publics albums upload". Then by setting permissions by Album, you have acheived the goal. By using the term "Visitors", it becomes unclear unless you read the * notes.
I am not interested in allowing Non-Registered Guests to upload to Public Albums, only Registered (and above). Therefore, I now understand this however I suppose I was thrown off by the fact that the developers have (wisely I suppose)
not given Members the option in their Galleries to allow uploads within their albums.
Now that I have figured out this proceedure, I have discovered that the Admin can override this.. I'll have to think about this a bit more - Possibly experience has taught the developers that it isn't such a good idea to allow Visitor uploads within Member Albums!
