Want to upgrade without losing data and settings
« on: April 18, 2008, 07:21:16 am »

Hey my whole coppermine gallery has been hacked with coding that puts harmful malware on computers. So I desperately need to update the software.. but I want to do this without all my pictures, settings, comments, and other date being deleted. I don't want to have to re-setup all the settings, remake all the albums & categories, and have to to re-upload thousands of pictures. So if anyone could help me out step by step, I would really appreciate it.

I didn't know where to find the manual you were talking about in the other thread, and you said to make my own thread if I had issues which I have done with this thread. BTW I created that thread, so how can I have possibly hijacked my own thread?

The manual ships with your copy of coppermine. It's available online as well. Link at the top of this page. Labelled "Documentation".

BTW I created that thread, so how can I have possibly hijacked my own thread?
Read carefully what I posted. I said
I already told you in the other thread you hijacked.
This is plain English and means: I already told you so. I told you so in the other thread. The thread you hijacked. I didn't say that you hijacked this very thread.
It's not wise imo to argue after having made a mistake. Just swallow the moderator's "tap on the fingers" and go on.

Ok well I i followed step by step your thread at http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php/topic,51927.0.html  and I do not know why but the malicous malware from cdpuvbhfzz.com .. I replaced all my files with clean files and deleted the necessary files as well as took out the coding in other files. I upgraded the software.. but nothing has changed.

Then you haven't done as suggested. You haven't properly sanitized your entire site. Re-read the sanitization thread.
