The rumors of my demise have been greatly exaggerated.

I have been subject to several rapid promotions at work, leaving me at the helm of a mostly vacant department.  The past 8 months have not been good for me.

But all of that is finally getting slightly better and I am embarking on some new hobby projects.

One of which will incorporate CPG / CpmFetch pretty heavily.  So while I am diving into the code I would like to get an idea for what the "market" is demanding at the moment...  What would make your lives easier, what "mods" for CpmFetch do you think are generic and valuable?

No assurances I will be able / willing to do all of them, but I thought I would throw it out there.

Thanks,

Vuud

a few that were already mentioned incase they were not written down on your list:

1) the ability to exclude certain cats or albums like doing a cat=4,5,6!,7! or something like that
2) mostviewedmediafrom to display in order of views rather than being random (i recall you said this requires alot of code though so I can see why you might skip it)

i would love the speed on the viewlastupdatedalbumsfrom to be better; i understand its a difficult query and you may not be able to speed that up but like the mod that displays it as a table in the gallery itself; that doesn't seem to take as long to load even with 25,000 files in cpg

maybe the ability to pull the member count (user count) as a statistic (like view counts, cat counts, etc) for those not using bridges

ohhh and the other thing I have been wanting it to do (but not sure if this is even possible) is if no data is found in said category to automatically look for sub categories w/ data.... see on alot of my sites I do a lot of subcategories (like appearances -> 2008 -> special events) well if appearances is cat 2 and thats all I put into fetch it doesn't look any lower than cat 2 even if I say all albums as there are no albums in cat 2 so if it could auto look for sub categories below the specified category only when no data is found that would save me from having to list out another 10-15 cats (some of my fetches have 50+ cats listed and it gets a bit ridiculous) IF this is possible and you can do it you would be my hero!!! But if its way too much work I would totally understand)

I can't wait to see what you decide to add to the newer version - I swear every time I learn something new in fetch its like xmas morning opening up all the presents LOL

Hello Bill,

great to see you back.

Joachim

You would not believe how life has treated me over the past year.  Overall its not bad stuff - some would say good in the long run.  I had a lot of 30 days without a day off and hours between 10-18 a day stretches.  Lot of travel also (no where good).

Good to be back!
