Removing Links/Buttons

The thread above on removing buttons by using the comment out characters or "final extract" works fine for horizontal menus but what of the newer themes with vertical right/left menus such as the "Reynolds" theme?
Looking for a solution that can help others using this theme or others with vertical menus.  ???

Post a link to your gallery and attach a zip of your theme. You can accomplish anything you wish by editing themes/yourtheme/theme.php
