can registerd users upload to the albums i created in the admin area or do they have to allways create there own. i noticed i can turn off private albums but would this then give them the option to upload just to the albums created by me

Album properties -> visitors can upload -> yes. This toggles on the ability to upload for individual albums. There is a general switch on the groups page "can upload to public albums" that you need to enable first. Has been asked and asnwered very often already and is being covered in the docs. Don't expect to be spoon-fed: read the docs first and search the board before asking trivial questions that have been answered over and over already.
