Theme Editing Problem
« on: March 29, 2008, 12:38:21 pm »

Okay I don't want to ask any more on "How to add Adsense to my site?" So I searched the whole forum for "Adsense" and got something around 1000 post & read them all post by post and got determined to modify my theme. I use "Water Drop" theme. I opened water drop theme folder under theme folder & finally opened up "theme.php" to find that it was almost blank except for a big block of comments & two to three lines of code.

Then I did some searching again & found in many places that you guys asked to copy certain portions of the theme.php file in sample theme to the working theme.php file. I wanted to know that how copper mine detects the water drop theme if the theme.php in water drop folder had nothing previously. I want to add adsense to many sections:- like in the full pics window, in thumbnails view , intermediate view etc.... so which blocks should I copy.

The bolded portions are the questions which I need to be answered. ???

The default is being defined in include/themes.incphp, but you mustn't edit that file!
like in the full pics window, in thumbnails view , intermediate view etc.
As you claim to have read all the threads that deal with Adsense I'm pretty sure that you have read there what sections you need to edit.

which blocks should I copy
Depends on where exactly on those pages you want adsense to appear.

You're running cpg1.4.12, while the most recent stable release is cpg1.4.16, so your initial concern should be upgrading, not adding adsense.
