Deactivate Joomla-Bridge / want the users back
« on: February 29, 2008, 12:37:22 pm »

Hi,

use Joomla 1.12 and CPG 1.410 and want to update to the newest versions of the softwares (Joomla 1.51 and CPG 1.416). I want to go the "delete- and new install way".

I deactivate the bridge to get a standalone cpg for backup but now I have a CPG without my users. They are only in Joomla. I know thats the idea of a bridge. But I want for my own security now and in the future, that the users are also in the cpg.

How can I migrate (copy) the users back in the CPG-gallery?

Copy the users from one table to the other, taking into account the schema differences and relations to other tables.

To be expected if you're up for a delete and install from scratch (that's what you asked for in your initial posting). That's why we don't recommend that. If you plan to re-bridge later again, why don't you go for an upgrade instead of a fresh install?

I think it is better to install two new versions than an double upgrade: Joomla and CPG.

And I need the experience for a future system-backup. I hope for a migration version were the users are saved in the cpg-database too. So that I can runs all my components (CPG, Joomla, phpbb) in a emergency.

Thank you for your help.
