How do I set an album to be modified by only one person?
« on: February 15, 2008, 09:01:24 pm »

Complicated thing... but summarized:

- I created the category X

- I create the album "y's pictures"

- I create the album "z's pictures"

- I want the user "y" to upload pictures to his "y's pictures" album and user "z" to upload pictures to "z's pictures". But I want to prevent everyone else to upload images to albums that are not theirs. In this case. Y can only upload to Y's pictures and Z only to Z's pictures.

I hope my question is clear :s sorry for the mess :s

Is this possible?

Thanks in advance!!

That's what user galleries are for.

Hi!

I'm sorry I'm kinda lost... I just installed the software and I'm a bit confused with all the options. :)

What I'm trying to do is the following:

I have a group called "members" which has around 6000 members. We want to give a gallery to certain members and not others.
Therefore, I put the permission so that group cannot create galleries.

Now, of that group, me, as Admin, want to create gallery Y for the person Y in that group, assign it to him and only let him upload images.

...can that be done or does Y need to be in a complete different group as the rest of the people?

Thanks! :)

OK, so you have 6000 members of the group "registered". Disallow them to have a personal gallery on the groups page. Then create another custom group named "uploaders" (or "super-dudes" or whatever you want). Allow them to have a personal gallery. Then (finally) edit the profile(s) of the users who are suppossed to have the power to upload to their personal gallery: make them members of the custom group "uploaders" (or however you called them).
