Performance Issue
« on: April 01, 2004, 11:44:29 am »

When I create an Album (coppermine/imagemagick creating the 'standard' images) on a Win2k, Dual P4 machine, the whole machine slows down significantly. for example, while creating those standard images and thumbnails for an album, if a user tries to access my album, it will basically hang. Is there a way around this? Is this a problem with the coppermine script or a problem with the imagemagick being too 'dominating'?

Will GD be better? Does GD yield results as good as ImageMagick?

GD2 is very close to IM. As for performance, you will simply need to try it on your environment to see.
