1.4.10 versus 1.4.16
« on: February 06, 2008, 08:30:21 pm »

On a calmer note and after destroying my first 1.4.10 gallery.
were there serious problems with version .10 that were fixed in .16 ? I have now installed .16 from scratch but if its going to go self destructive like .10 then I'm loosing time I suppose can somebody give me some reasurance (having already recked my site cause things went bonkers)
I am now installing a number of different gallery softwares hoping to find the best

You can read up on previous new version announcements here: http://forum.coppermine-gallery.net/index.php?board=58.0
It explains what has been addressed in each version change.

What do you mean by
but if its going to go self destructive like .10
? What do you mean by self-destruct? Neither cpg1.4.10 nor any other cpg1.4.x is known to destroy things out of it's own. So if you want to solve your issues, post what exactly happened and what you did. Usually, reports like yours turn out to be PEBKAC-issues, so I strongly advice to keep a level head and ask yourself what went wrong with any previous installs.
Details about what has been changed between releases can be found out by taking a look at the changelog and reading the announcements (as Hein suggested).
