How exactly did you perform the upgrade? Post a link to your gallery for a start. Make sure that all tables are intact. If they are not, restore them from your backup.

OK, that answers part of my questions. How about
How exactly did you perform the upgrade?
To clarify my question: did you perform the upgrade exactly as suggested in the upgrade section of the docs, or what where the exact steps you have taken?
I have run update.php for you. Try again if this solves your issues.

I believe i ran the update as it was suggested. Everything seemed to work fine .. Except for the loss of the users. Which are still gone.

The update script doesn't delete users. When this has been reported before it was usually caused by using an autoinstaller to update which messed up the groups. Check everything is OK on the groups page. Try restoring the groups and then users tables from the backup.

That's why I asked the question
did you perform the upgrade exactly as suggested in the upgrade section of the docs, or what where the exact steps you have taken?
I want to find out if this upgrade has been performed as we suggest or wether an auto-installer messed things up.
@Outlaw Photos: why don't you do as I suggested?

If you have upgraded following the documentation we provide then you have made a database backup. Restore that and you should be good. I'm not willing to look into your issues if you don't do as suggsted. I didn't want to know wether you believe to have followed our docs. I wanted a step-by-step description of what you did, like this:
Quote
First step: bla
Second step: did that
Third step: copied foo to bar using bla
