Permission

I'm very novice at this, so I beg your indulgence.  I have coppermine photo gallery on a web site that is a community site where we want to share pictures.  We do not want someone to come in and copy our pictures.  Is there a way to do that?  I am unsure of how to do it.  I appreciate any help you can give me.  Some of the posts I've tried to read lose me because of the technical stuff... again, very novice at this and just started this new site through host papa which was easy to do.

Displaying pics on the internet means offering them to be downloaded (technically speaking, they are downloaded to the client when a visitor displays the page he's on) . If you're afraid of that, then don't publish the pics in the first place, or make sure that the pics are only accessible for the people you trust.
