My current gallery is currently bridged with PHPBB 2.0.3 .  Because of spam attacks, I am upgrading to IPB 2.3.4.

What is the order of steps I should follow to preserve my existing Coppermine galleries to work with IPB 2.3.4?

As usual, thanks for the help,

harrison

Coppermine version: cpg1.4.9
Upgrade! Most recent stable release currently is cpg1.4.14, so you're running 5 versions behind.

Thanks for noticing that.  After I upgrade coppermine, what else should I do to make sure that coppermine works with my newly converted IPB?

Disable bridging (using the bridge manager) - this will make your gallery standalone. Then re-run the bridge manager and bridge your gallery with IPB.

Wow.. that easy?  So all my data and associations in CPG + PHPBB will carry over automatically into the IPB?

The only connection is the user id number. So long as that doesn't change it will be fine.

Awesome!  Thanks for the help guys.  The bridging is working now.  You guys designed this well!  I almost fell for a trick by a company to "upgrade" my coppermine to work with IPB for $300... i thought I smelled something fishy there.

Final question.  I had some View User gallery links embedded within the user profile pages back in PHPBB... where should I start to look for mods like this that integrate between IPB and Coppermine better?

Thanks for all the help,

harrison

This would require editing of IPB core code, with which we're not familiar with at all. You'll have to ask that on an IPB support board. Additionally, we have a strict "one question per thread" policy that you agreed to respect when signing up. Marking thread as "solved".
