custom theme - no errors but not showing title or description in slideshow

I've searched the forums but haven't found anything answering this, or perhaps I'm not understanding the answers.  When I run a slideshow I'm not getting the title and description showing. Just a {title} and {description} text where they should be displayed. Otherwise the slide show runs fine with no errors.

Here's an example album, images have titles and some have have a description but if you start the slide show they don't show.
I tried in firefox and IE and also in a default theme rather than my custom theme. The default theme doesn't show {title} etc but doesn't show the text either.

an unmodded coppermine doesn't show tile and caption within the slideshow (you can check that using the classic theme). So your theme needs additional coding to add that functionality or you have to remove the two placeholders.

If you need further help zip your custom theme and add it to your next post.
