hello there,
i'm new in coppermine.. i try to search with no results about it

so..

i installed coppermine 1.4.14 and try to use admin user's personal gallery... nothing!

if i try to upload in "admin mode" is ok: i can make album in admin user directory and add pics

if i try to upload in "user mode" is ko: i cannot add albums in user directory and of course have no pics upload

someone know why and how to solve? (permissions are ok for registered user of course: they can have their own albums also chmod are correct: admin do the work so they are fine )

Never leave admin mode. Read up the docs what the "user mode" is meant to be used for. It's not meant to allow the admin to allow to his personal gallery. Instead, go to the album manager and create an album in the "*my gallery*" category. That's what equals the personal gallery of the admin.

I'm having a similar problem, except with me I made Certain Albums and Cats for people to use. but when users try to upload they have to make their own albums, But if I make them an admin they can use the albums I created.

Don't make others admin. Read up the docs instead: allow them to upload to pre-made albums by going to album properties and setting "visitors can upload"="yes". Your issue is not related, but totally different. Don't try to hijack someone else's thread.

thanks for the info, but my problem is different and i've not found solution to it:

when i'm a simple user, i would like to go in my gallery and add an album and then add pictures in it.

so where i have to read something about it? now i cannot do this if i am simple user even i set i can in the admin user panel

If users are allowed to have personal galleries, they're allowed to create albums within the user gallery that corresponds to their username. If this is not the case for you, post a link to your gallery and a non-admin test user account.

ok, let me undestand...

so in admin mode i have to create an album for every user?

is it right?

now i try to create an album "admin" for the user admin in personal galleries and when i go in the album "admin" in "user mode" the user can upload images.

the questions are two:

1. so for every user i have to create their personal gallery using username as album name?

2. can a simple user add albums in his/her personal gallery?

Do as I suggested if you want answers:

post a link to your gallery and a non-admin test user account.

doing the account to post here, i don't know what i do... but it goes now! so tanks a lot for your time... now my user can finally post their album and upload their pics, this is good.
