Coppermine doesn't come up..
« on: December 28, 2007, 07:08:32 pm »

Hi all,

I moved a coppermine 1410 installation to another server, following all recommended changes/fixes.  It does not come up at all in FireFox, and yields an "Internal Server Error 500" with IE.  To troubleshoot, I installed a brand new installation of Coppermine 1414, and it too has the same problem- won't come up at all.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Eugene.

Explaining how you are hosted and also a link to the cpg installation would help ;) Unfortunately this is all non-profit so buying thinking-caps to predict it is not possible.

Cheers

Hope that helps..

Thanks,
Eugene.

I strongly doubt that enabling debug_mode will help in this case. There are several things that may cause blank pages. Make sure that you have uploaded all files, that you have used a real FTP app, that you have used the proper FTP mode.

I have enabled debug mode, and as per your prediction, it does not help.  Regarding a pure FTP app and all the files being uploaded, I will try to install 1414 again and see what happens.

Regards,
Eugene.

We recommend FileZilla or SmartFTP as "real" FTP apps. Don't use crap like MS Frontpage or other crutches built into applications that are meant for others purposes.

I used Filezilla to upload the new installation, and have the same problem:  a blank page for login.php and other .php files.  Any ideas on how to begin troubleshooting would be appreciated.  The installation goes flawlessly every time.  The files are all there.  ImageMagick is installed on the server & the server meets all the cpg requirements.

Many thanks,
Eugene.
