I just wanted to double check my understanding of how to create a custom theme. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but so far I have download a copy of default theme from my server, renamed it as stated in turtorials, and edited the files to point to my file names. Now my main question is, if I want things (catagories, albums, stats etc...) to display in a different fashion the the configuration panel will allow, Are those the specific codes I need to add to my theme.php, as in copy and paste from the sample.php then edit how I wish to display and paste into the bottom of my theme.php? To explain futher... if I want let's says catagories to show up on main page in colums instead of rows I add html code for catagory list.. edit how I wish.. and my edit, or pasting of the code overides any of the default settings? Additionally if I want the albums to display in columns, I would also have to add that code and again edit how I wish?
