Upgrading from 1.4.12 to 1.4.14...?
« on: November 18, 2007, 12:03:02 pm »

hiya, i was reading the documentation about upgrading version, but it seems they are refering to 1.3 and such, and im unsure if same "procedures" would apply for the newer end versions?

im just VERY worryed about losing the current gallery setup and such, no mods or such, just alot of categorys, albums, and hand cleaning of the pictures/renaming for 5-6 months now :)

as from my memory, my last attempt to upgrade went haywire, and caused me to have to redo the entire gallery! :(

so any help is great! ty again :)

If you don't have mods or personalisation, the update is very simple:
follow the docs explanations step by step
http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#14
if you have a custom theme without changing his name (eg: customisation from the classic theme but same name) don't overwrite it
that's all  ;)

ok! it worked, but when i run version check, it shows the "anycontent.php" as out of date, and vital to update it, is it safe to just leave it as the older version, or do i need to do "something" to update it also? ;)

It's normal and not a problem. Anycontent.php is a special file who not need an update

Jumping on the wagon  8)

If i check at http://coppermine-gallery.net/demo/cpg14x/docs/index.htm#14 there is no mention of 1.4.14 - only 1.4.13  :-\
I think this causes confusion on the updaters side ?!?!
