How do I do this without making her an admin?
« on: September 20, 2007, 02:38:01 pm »

Hi.I am using coppermine version 1.4 and the question I need answered is this.

I have just hired a gallery manager to upload pics to my gallery for me as I do not have the time with all the other activities going on with my site and personal life.

I want her to be able to have the same permissions as a normal user but I also want to give her permission to create sub-albums. How do I do this without making her an admin? I don't want to give her ftp access and risk her messing with the configuration and screwing my gallery up.

My gallery is at http://loveunchained.com/gallery

There is no such thing as subalbums.

Only admins can create albums in public categories. No way to circumvent this. No hack, no mod, no plugin. Has been asked (and answered) so often that it hurts. I'd appreciate it if you could perform a search before posting your next question.

being that this is so popular and asked so often, wouldnt it be a good to-do feature?  I too am looking to allow people to create alblums and categories without the ability to mess up the configuration.  It almost seems extremely strange that this is not possible.  At the very least you should be able to disable the config menu for certain admin users.  I want to allow users running their board to do all this without me, but letting them change the config would be crazy.

Bingo...It is - and that's why it will be rolled out in next major release.

msbigbad, you need to upgrade your cpg. You are running <!--Coppermine Photo Gallery 1.4.12 (stable)--> at the moment.
