Hi I installed a clean copy of coppermine and created a catacory called 'locations' but when i tried an account just as a user would(with a registred account) i can only create albums in the user albums and not in the locations created as admin. Shouldnt users be able to post in the catagories i created or have i got the idea? www.britmovie.net/gallery

No: non-admins are not albe to create albums in public categories (if that's what you mean by saying "post"). However, they can upload files to albums in public categories if they have permissions to do so (you assign those permissions globally on the groups page and locally for the individual album on the album properties page).

admin can do anything he wants, including uploading files to public albums. You can't upload to a category though, as categories only hold sub-categories and albums. Only albums can contain files.
