I've set up my site so that images that are uploaded by users need to be approved by the admn.

But I can find no way to see much approve any of these images.

Where do I do this in the admin section. I use to be able too but not anymore.

The approval link only appears when there is something to be approved.

But I know users have upload - spent time yesterday with the person telling them how to do it - I know they uploaded them into a personal user album does that make a difference and if so how can a move the image to the proper Album ?

Do uploads to personal albums need approval as well? Those are separate settings. Post a link to your page together with a non-admin test user account with upload privileges.
Not related to themes, but permissions - moving your thread accordingly.

As expected, you have enabled admin approval for uploads to public albums, but you haven't enabled admin approval to personal galleries. I have uploaded two files:

  This upload is not publicly visible yet (as it has been uploaded to a public gallery, where you require admin approval). You should be able to approve/disapprove it by logging in as admin and clicking on the "Upload approval" link. Please confirm that it is there now.
