Confused & Need Step By Step
« on: August 07, 2007, 05:13:44 pm »

Right now I'm very confused. I thought after uploading all the folders and files, everything would be ok from there and I could easily make a username and password...wrong!

The whole FTP, php, and data base thing is so confusing. Itry to follow the steps but then I think I made a mistake.

First, I named the coppermine file, gallery in my public_html
Then, I uploaded all the folders and files
After that, I changed the permissons
 But what I didn't understand was

To create your phpinfo file, copy the following into a text file and save the file as phpinfo.php.

    <?php
    phpinfo();
    ?>

Not knowing where else to make the file, I created a text file phpinfo.php with all my other main files in the public_html and pasted the code

This is another part of a step that I did not get
Ok, I uploaded everything to www.yoursite.com/cpg140. Now what?

What? Was I supposed to create a file named cpg140. All I did was create a folder named gallery, and uploaded every folder and file under it.

Is there anything that I did wrong in my steps, and if so, what do I need to do to change them? Looking at the FAQ and instructions still confused me.

You don't need to create a phpinfo file.

If you named the Coppermine folder gallery then you install from http://example.com/gallery/install.php
