hi! a question about group permissions
« on: July 22, 2007, 12:19:24 pm »

Hello!

I've already asked this once, but still don't know what to do.

I have a gallery, which is not personally mine, but I want other people to be able to upload pictures into it.

If I create an album for a certain group, then all the people who are not in the group can't watch the pictures.

Is it possible to be solved in any convenient way?

Set the group you want to have access in album properties.

I just upgraded my Gallery yesterday from cpg1.3.5 to cpg1.4.12 and I'm still working on theme upgrade.  However, in my Album Permissions I do not have the field for 'Album can be viewed by' to set group permissions.

Is this because my theme.php is not finished or did I do something wrong elsewhere?

This is a screen shot for 'Permissions for the Album'

I need some help on this

Please read the documentation I posted the link to.

If you have set "Users can can have private albums" to YES on the config page, you can determine who will have permission to view the files of this album.

Once you set that in config the new options will appear.

Nibbler, thank u for the link, but I've read the docs throurouly*.

I don't want users to have private albums.
I want them to use the common ones.

For example, we have to gone to a trip with a number of guys. Some of them had the cameras.
And after the trip all of those who had cameras, upload their photos into the common album for that trip. Not in their own ones.

So this is a problem.

Then create an album and allow them to upload to it. Where is the problem?

What is your problem now? Everybody (including guests and other member groups) can upload to that album? Then disallow upload into public albums to other member groups and guests.
