Change categories

I know how to change the order of categories, but is there an easy way to change the way they are displayed?
I use the greenflower style where the categories show below eachother, but I would like to have them next to eachother (as long as the table lets me ofcourse).
So instead of this:
1
2
3
4
I want 1-2-3-4
Or 1-2
    3-4 if the table is too small.

Anybody an idea?

Basically, you edit your custom theme (modifying the $template_album_list section). For details, post a link to your gallery for a start.
