Okay forgive me if none of this makes any sense, I have just installed Coppermine, it's all working perfectly and I have pics up to my relief. But I have a few questions...

On the main/first page of the gallery (http://www.chaosdream.co.uk/gallery) It has one table saying Category and then the name underneath and how many albums are in, pictures etc. Then underneath it has Radom pics and the thumbnails then the same for last additions. Is there a way of changing it so It has the Category name then in that table a thumbnail for each album in that? Does that make sense?

An example would be http://www.destruya.net/gallery/

Or would I have to create my own theme?

No, you just have to go into config, and find 'Show first level album thumbnails in categories', and set it to yes.  You can set here also how many rows and columns of thumbs to show.
