Sorry if there is an answer for this elsewhere, I'm having a problem with the gallery we are running:

Yesterday the site was spammed and forced the site to close down for a couple of hours, this issue was fixed but today whenever our users login they get the welcome message but the login wont stick. Also none of the previous members appear in the user list but if I try to re-register these members with the same details I get told that the username already exists. Secondly when I register a new account all the details show up in the user list and their accounts work as normal. The problem only seems to be with members that registered before the site got spammed. Has anybody got any ideas how I can restore these members so it shows on the user list?

I did notice a thread with a slighlly similar prob and followed their solution but to no avail, so if anybody has any ideas I would be very grateful for the help. The site having the problem is www.conceptart.org.uk

Did the already registered users clean out their internet cookies en temp internet files ?

I cleaned out all temp files, cookies and cache and still have the same prob. I also got another user to access the site from another PC and they have the same prob, as far as I'm aware they haven't cleaned out thier cache, etc.

Post a non-admin test user account if you can.

Everything works as expected for me. Make sure that third-party-apps like "Norton Internet Security" or similar pseudo-security-crap doesn't interfere.

Cheers for checking it out. New users seem to work fine, the problem only works with our users that had registered before 2 days ago. Other than that everything in the gallery seems to work fine. I've checked the MySQL database and their details are still in the database and when they login they get the welcome message but dont get any of the associated features with the registered users. However this only affects eight users so it might be easier just to get them to re-register with the site.

mybe you've upgarded from 1.3 to 1.4 and chosen to use encrypted passwords. Then all old users (registered before the upgrade) won't be able to log in anymore.

You could disable pwd encryption but then the newly registered won't work anymore. Or manually change the passes and email the new ones to your users. You can find out if you have a look at the users table with a tool like phpmyadmin
