Fatal Error after install
« on: March 28, 2007, 02:37:36 am »

I have gallery 2.2.1 and pnCPG 3.5 installed and configured.

gallery works great by itself, but trying to access the gallery through
the menu in postnuke, I get this:

Warning: require(include/init.inc.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in D:\httpdocs\gallery2\index_pn.php on line 68

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required 'include/init.inc.php' (include_path='.;./includes;./pear') in D:\httpdocs\gallery2\index_pn.php on line 68

Is it saying an include/ folder was supposed to be uploaded with the gallery files?

Yes, coppermine comes with a folder named "include". If it isn't there, coppermine will not work in standalone mode. I suggest posting a link to your site and a deep link to your standalone gallery.

Seems my hosting provider has an issue with their FTP server (MS ftp server), in that
the connection just dies out over time (uploads over just a couple of minutes), so
the whole script was never fully uploaded.

All sorted out now!

It is always much safer and easier to upload the script and then try to unzip via ssh.

Most users on shared webhosting don't have shell access, so we suggest unzipping on the client and then uploading the unzipped files using FTP. If the FTP app is configured properly, everything should work as expected. Only users who know their way around should heed the advice you posted and use the shell.
