Don't have permission to access bridgemgr.php
« on: September 06, 2007, 11:33:18 pm »

I have the following issue when trying to bridge coppermine and SMF:

I had a successful bridge in place. Later, I discovered an issue with my Coppermine and SMF installs that required me to change the mysql username for the Coppermine and SMF databases. Only the database username was changed
in the respective config files.

Bridging "appears" to still be intact.

From Coppermine Admin Tools, I attempted to disable bridging, make any changes as needed to the database username in the bridge wizard, and rebridge.  In hindsight now, I realize I should have unbridged first perhaps.

While every other Coppermine Admin function appears to work, Admin Tools >Bridge Manager gives this error:

You don't have permission to access this page.

Per the Documemtation, I logged out and manually browsed to
http://www.batistaweb.com/gallery/bridgemgr.php  where I recieved the same error.

I then attempted to log in with the Administer account created when Coppermine was first set up, the bridged login gave a "username not found" error. (I was not surprised by this, login/logouts seem to be using the smf_users table, not the cpg users)

My two main issues are:
1. Cannot access bridgemgr.php to disable/repair bridging
2. Under my currently "locked" group based permissions, members of the Admin team (one step below Super Admin) do not have all the Coppermine permissions the had prior to my changing the database username.   I believe this is directly related to my bridgemgr issue.

Is there some way manually to override my current bridge, either by
uploading/overwriting bridgemgr.php or making changes to the cpg_bridge
table in my database?

Thank you

To manually disable bridging, use a tool like phpMyAdmin, browse coppermine's config table, find "bridge_enable" and set it from "1" to "0".

SOLVED: Don't have permission to access bridgemgr.php

Thank you GauGau!  I was able to switch bridge_enable off and get into bridgemgr.php with my originally set up Coppermine admin info. The bridge has been reset.

I'm having trouble finding a recent "Help Wanted" thread for graphics, but attached is an 88x31 Coppermine button I made as a thanks.

Thanks for your readiness to contribute. The thread "Coppermine Logo Competition 2006 / 2007" has been locked though - the competition is over.
Marking thread as "solved".
